Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome (Irlen Syndrome)
Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome (SSS) or Irlen Syndrome causes eye problems for many people because it alters the way they see things. This keeps many people from reading efficiently and effectively. Many people with Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome do not realise that they are experiencing these visual distortions.
In some cases coloured overlays or lenses can improve reading. For a basic colour filter test or to purchase coloured overlays please contact us.

IMPORTANT
If you suspect Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome, the individual must first have a comprehensive vision exam by an optometrist or ophthalmologist to have any acuity or refraction problems corrected. Then testing can be done to determine the existence of SSS.
Often, an individual with dyslexia has more than one type of learning disability. Tinted lenses or plastic overlays were found to help 88% of dyslexic individuals read better.
